Antithesis of Demure: Isabell Daniel and Cynthia Morelli’s Portrait Series

This video is presented as part of Isabell Daniel and Cynthia Morelli's two person sculpture exhibit, Antithesis of Demure, at the International Gallery of Contemporary Art in Anchorage, Alaska for the month of August 2025. With this exhibition we celebrate a deep and enduring friendship, born from and sustained through a shared history with clay. Upon meeting in 1980, we began documenting our adventures together with photos, eventually calling it the portrait series. This series records our heartfelt trust and bold playfulness when we're together despite rarely living in the same place.
